Bak kut teh is one of my favourite local dish and I've yet to find any so called "Teo Chew" style bak kut teh in Singapore that's to my liking. It's always too pepperish that taste more like my mom's pig stomach soup than fitting into my definition for the taste of authentic bak kut teh. The good news is, I've found one that serves pretty decent bak kut teh recently! It's called Song Fa Bak Kut Teh, located directed across the Clarke Quay MRT station along Circular Road. *happy* What's more surprising is that I also found that the shop serves lean meat bak kut teh which is similar to the one which I tried in Malacca last year. I am sure to drop by there again with my hubby who loves bak kut teh just as much as I do. :)
Prime pork loin @ S$ 7.50/bowl (right) VS pork ribs (left) @ S$ 4.50/bowl - doesn't taste any different. I should have just ordered the cheaper version. I prefer the softer pork ribs.
